Sports medicine specialist to speak on knee injuries

Greenwich Hospital’s Dr. Megan Gleason, sports medicine specialist, will discuss “Adolescent Knee Injuries” from 6 to 7 p.m. June 7 via Zoom. Talk at gallery

The Flinn Gallery’s “In Harmony” artist talk is scheduled for 2 p.m. June 18. “In Harmony” is the final exhibition of the Flinn’s 2022-2023 season and features the artwork of multimedia artist Tomoko Amaki Abe, sculptor Jack Elliott, and abstract painter Hisako Kobayashi. Through juxtaposition, the artists explore the tension – and potential harmony – between artifice and nature, intention and spontaneity, transience and permanence.

The June 18 talk will feature the three artists behind the exhibit, which runs until June 28.

The Flinn Gallery is sponsored by the Friends of Greenwich Library and is on the second floor of the library at 101 West Putnam Ave., Greenwich. For more information, visit www.flinngallery.com.

Mini Camp Art Programs

The Greenwich Art Society is offering Kids Mini Camp Art Programs, a fun week-long summer mini-camp for children. There are two sessions, for ages 6 to 8 and ages 9 to 12. Campers explore a different medium each day such as drawing, printmaking, collage, sculpture and painting. Classes are small so there’s lots of individual attention.

Bush Holley House Tours

The Greenwich Historical Society offers guided tours of the Bush-Holley House at noon, 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. Visitors can learn about the Holley family who lived there in the era of the Cos Cob Art Colony as well as the Bush family, who resided there in the era of the New Nation. Food donations

The Parish of St. Catherine of Siena and St. Agnes accepts food pantry donations for Neighbor to Neighbor from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays in its parking area at 4 Riverside Ave. Items needed include peanut butter and jelly, oatmeal, canned meat, tuna, canned fruit, dried or canned beans, cereal, rice and soup as well as household cleaners and toiletries. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 200 Riverside Ave. accepts donations from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays.

Playing bridge
