ActivePaper Archive Miss K.innia Piorson Loses Lite lit Sagamore Bridge When returning by motor to Center ville from Boston Thursday night, Oth Mr Albert sturck's oar, containing Mr nnd Mrs Albert Sturek of Camp Opeohee, Uentervllio, Carl Starek and Miss Km m:i I'iersou, the latter u younger sister of Mrs Starek, broke down nt Sugiimore und Mr Still ok phoned for assistance to tho hotel Sagamore. The proprietor of tlie hotel, p. p. t'oouey, donned his fur overeoul and wont iu his own ear to assist tliein und Mrs Sturek and Miss Piersou were transferred to his oar. They returned over tlie drawbridge which when they were half way ucross opened to let u vessel through. The car and occupants were hurled into tile canal. Miss Piorson was swept toward the bny by the current und when picked up later by a tug wus lifeless und although the pulinotor wus used -.it the hospital it was Ineffectual. After some ditllculty Mr t'l/ouey and Mrs Starek were ruscured. Mr Cooney hail a leg broken anil was badly bruised; Mrs sturek it WHS feared ut first*WOS seriously hurt. She was taken to the Sagamore hospital for treatment. Mrs Starek was carried to her home lu Ceuterville 'on (Saturday and is steadily gaining, notwithstanding the terrible experience through which she has passed—the fall through the bridge, the shook of the uoldjwnter aud the bruised state of her body, coupled with her great grief over the death of her sister. Her bruin Is clear and there is apparently no Internal Injury. The body of Miss I'iersou was taken to the uudei taking rooms "of Samuel N. Ames of Ostervllle. The bridge tender, Duvld»*Munsnn was arrested and brought before Judge Swift at Barnstable Friday audMbeld in MQOQ for his uppearance ut,;a hoarlug to be held Dec. 20.
