McNeese virtual career fair today

McNeese State University is holding a special virtual Career Fair and Internship Soiree on today, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Current students, graduating seniors and alumni will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from over 100 industries and organizations, including engineering, business, government, construction, technology, law enforcement, education, social services, health care, nonprofits and military.

Sponsors for the event include Northwestern Mutual, Teach for America, BlueSprig, FranU, The Orchard Foundation, Chevron Phillips Chemical, Enterprise Rent-a-Car and Baton Rouge General Medical Center.

“This event isn’t just for seniors – all students can take advantage of this event to start building their network and professional skills and see what opportunities are out there for internships, work study, volunteering, summer employment and more. Alumni are also welcome to participate – just contact the McNeese Career and Student Development Center to receive your credentials,” says Paul L. Rainey, career counselor and coordinator for the center.

To participate, students only need to have a phone or a laptop equipped with a camera, as well as internet access, which is available on campus at the SEED Center and the Rec Center.

Students should browse through the official 2020 Career Fair and Internship Soiree Booklet to see what organizations will be present. Before the event, student can register on Handshake by clicking here or visiting www.rb.gy/tif5lh and logging in with their McNeese email and password.

Then, students can register for individual sessions ahead of time.

The day of the fair, students can log into Handshake before their sessions and enter the virtual rooms.
