HIGHER EDUCATION

University of Arkansas System President Dr. Donald R. Bobbitt announced that Elon Turner will take over as executive director of the Arkansas Research and Education Optical Network.

NONPROFIT

The Arkansas Economic Development Commission has established the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Division and has named Katherine Andrews the Director of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Development.

MEDICINE

Dr. Spyridoula Maraka, M.S., assistant professor in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, is one of three women nationwide to receive the 2020 Women Advancing Thyroid Research Award from the American Thyroid Association.
