For Family Foundation: The Family Foundation of Southwest Louisiana was presented with a $10,000 donation from JD Bank in support of its capital campaign, which is raising funds to expand Family & Youth’s facilities. On hand for the donation were Julio R. For Project Build a Future: Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, the First Federal Bank of Louisiana and First National Bank of Louisiana teamed up to present Project Build a Future with a $20,000 check for the organization to continue its mission of engaging local residents in quality, affordable homeownership initiatives that will revitalize and beautify the greater area. These funds specifically will help the nonprofit purchase home sites, improve those sites, develop a smaller home plan and develop new counseling and training for low-income working families seeking to buy a new home.

For Agricultural Sciences:

The USPOULTRY Foundation, through an endowed program funded by Cal-Maine Foods, has given $3,000 to the McNeese State University College of Agricultural Sciences. The funds are designated to aid in student recruiting and retention efforts. On hand for the presentation are were Devin Gandy, animal science instructor in the Harold and Pearl Dripps School of Agricultural Sciences; Kyrah Devall, senior in agribusiness and animal science; Deborah Campbell, Cal-Maine Foods compliance manager; William Vanderlick, junior in agribusiness; and Brennan Uzee, junior in agricultural education and animal science.

For The Southwest Louisiana O Gauge Model Railroad Club: The Southwest Louisiana O Gauge Model Railroad Club recently secured the Union Pacific Railroad Company as a major business sponsor. Union Pacific, which celebrated the 150th anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad, will make a financial contribution of $2,500 to assist the club in increasing public participation in model railroad activities in the Lake Area. The generous financial support of business sponsors assists the club to provide a valuable resource in supporting the mission of the Brimstone Museum and increasing public traffic to this historic West Calcasieu landmark.
