On Sunday, hundreds gathered downtown for the Vigil for Humanity to express opposition to the separation of children from their immigrant parents. The vigil outside San Fernando Cathedral was organized by a coalition of faith and justice organizations. Methodist Bishop Joel N. Martinez Jubilado said, “By my calling, I’ve been asked to pray in the public square on justice. The least I could do is be present to offer prayers and support for the children and issues around immigration.”
