› “Religion and the Civil War”: Registration closes Sunday for a workshop to be offered by the Community of St. Mary, a convent in Sewanee, Tenn., 9 a.m.-2:45 p.m. CST Nov. 9. Three sessions will explore how American Christianity inspired the abolitionist cause in the North; how Christianity was used by Southerners to defend slavery; and how Christianity advised soldiers, generals and the president. › Azusa Lecture: Lee University’s Dr. Lisa Stephenson will present the 14th annual Azusa Lecture, which celebrates the heritage of the Pentecostal movement, at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the North Cleveland Church of God’s Dixon Chapel, 335 11th St. NE, Cleveland. Her topic: “Unto the Least of These: Biblical and Theological Foundations for Benevolence.” The Dixon Pentecostal Research Center will honor the Rev.
