Signature Associates

Southfield, Michigan

Years in the business: 26

A real estate journey: With over 26 years of experience, Viergever has made the rounds of commercial real estate; he began his career as an attorney specializing in construction litigation before handling the real estate transactions of a tier-one auto supplier as Director of Real Estate.

This unique background gives Viergever first-hand experience with all aspects of real property transactions. He made the switch to brokerage in 1997 and never looked back.

One of his most satisfying transactions was with Tremec, a Mexico-based auto supplier. Once Viergever completed a 124,000-square-foot lease for a specialized, high-tech manufacturing facility on behalf of the company, the result was more than just a major investment by Tremec—it brought manufacturing jobs to the state of Michigan.

Enriched by the job: The varieties of events involved in commercial real estate are what keep his attention. A day in the life of Brad Viergever can be as simple as showing a facility to a prospective tenant or as complex as negotiating deal points with an attorney on a multimillion dollar transaction.

Viergever specializes in representing owners and users in leasing, selling, purchasing and developing real estate and is consistently a top performer at Signature Associates. He credits hard work and consistency with his success, recognizing that clients need to know you are there for them if called upon.

As Amazon’s exclusive representative for Southeast Michigan, he has secured over 3.5 million square feet on their behalf. Other clients include Burton Katzman, D & G Building Co., First Industrial Realty Trust, ProTrans and Red Bull. In the previous 18 months, Viergever has sold or leased 7.2 million square feet of industrial space and sold 690 acres of land on behalf of his clients.

Trophy case: Signature Associates has recognized Viergever as a Top Industrial Performer in 2002 and a Top Overall Performer in 2016 and 2017. He was a CoStar Power Broker in 2006, 2007, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

He is the 2019 President and member of the Board of Directors for CBOR and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Real Property Law Section; Southern Wayne County Chamber of Commerce; Council Supply Chain Management Professionals and a City of Romulus committee aiding development of the Detroit Metro Airport. When not working, Viergever enjoys snow skiing, boating, fishing and mountain biking.
