For more than 15 years, the Panorama Invitational Art Show has showcased the artwork of Kern County high school students.
It returns to the Wylie and May Louise Jones Gallery at Bakersfield College with an opening reception today.
This exhibition features more than 60 works, including two- and three-dimensional pieces and multimedia artwork, by Kern teens in grades 9-12.
Young artists hail from 17 high schools: Bakersfield, Centennial, East Bakersfield, Foothill, Garces Memorial, Golden Valley, Highland, Independence, Liberty, Mira Monte, McFarland, North, Ridgeview, South, Stockdale, Vista West and West.
The opening reception will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the gallery in the Grace Van Dyke Bird Library on campus, 1801 Panorama Drive.
Afterward, the work will remain on display, with gallery hours of 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
