Reid appointed

to LAMP board

Richard Reid, vice president for university advancement at McNeese State University and executive vice president for the McNeese Foundation, has been appointed to a one-year term on the President’s Advisory Board of Louisiana Asset Management Pool at the group’s annual meeting in New Orleans.

“Mr. Reid has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to LAMP. We’re grateful that his expertise will continue to be applied for the next year as a member of our advisory board,” said LAMP President and State Treasurer Ron J. Henson.

LAMP was created in 1994 as a cooperative endeavor to assist local Louisiana governmental entities in the investment of their cash balances. As of Nov. 28, LAMP’s assets under management totaled $1.4 billion.

The fund is represented by 681 public entities statewide.

Vallee-Rettke gets

LRTA award

Joan Vallee-Rettke, a visiting lecturer in the McNeese State University Department of Chemistry and Physics, was recently named recipient of the 2017 Name of Fame award by the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association.

This award honors Louisiana’s retired teachers for their leadership, organizational achievements and community involvement.

Vallee-Rettke has spent 48 years active in both teaching and volunteerism. Vallee-Rettke was a high school chemistry teacher for 18 years and an assistant professor of chemistry at McNeese for 24 years. She also served as the director of McNeese’s Honors College and coordinator of service learning. She has remained an active member of LRTA’s District VI by serving as a district officer and also helping design quality programs.

Roberts joins

Robichaux, Mize, Wadsack, Richardson & Watson, LLC has announced that Landon R. Roberts has become a member of the law firm located at 1777 Ryan St.in Lake Charles.

Lakeside Bank expands to Sulphur

SULPHUR — Lakeside Bank has opened a new, temporary location at 2594 Maplewood Drive, adjacent to the construction site of their new banking center. The bank broke ground at the site last month and construction is expected to be completed mid-2018.

Kala Kuhlthau, newlyappointed Vice President with Lakeside, is the Branch Manager in Sulphur, and the banking staff includes Janet Isaac, Jessica Rigley and Madalynn Roney.

Lakeside’s Sulphur banking center will offer fullservice personal and commercial banking services, including free checking and other fee-free services. Stateof-art online and mobile device banking technology is available in addition to personalized service.

Lakeside Bank opened in 2010 and was the nation’s only new bank to receive a charter that year. Their main banking center is located on Nelson Road in Lake Charles, with additional locations on Oak Park Blvd. in Lake Charles and on Sampson Street in Westlake.

McCrary named Amerisafe senior VP

DERIDDER — Amerisafe has promoted Barbara Mc-Crary to senior vice president of policyholder services.

McCrary began her career with AMERISAFE in 1997 in the Premium Audit department. During her tenure, McCrary has held the positions of monthly audit coordinator, assistant director of audit services, director of premium collections, and premium audit manager. She has successfully led the premium audit department as vice president since 2010.

Amerisafe is a DeRidderbased specialty provider of worker’s compensation insurance focused on small to mid-sized employers engaged in hazardous industries including construction, logging and lumber, manufacturing, and agriculture.
