Calling all Golden Scholars

l Joyce Patterson, McNeese State University director for alumni affairs, said graduates from the classes of 1939-1968 are invited to join next month’s commencement festivities in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Golden Scholars program.

l The reunion weekend begins with a welcome reception on Friday, May 11, at the University President’s Home, where the Golden Scholars can visit with fellow classmates, President Daryl Burckel and alumni staff.

l Later that evening, a reception will be held at the Doland Fieldhouse. The night will include a seated dinner, slideshow, reminiscing time, induction ceremony, pinning, and individual photographs with Burckel.

l Festivities for Saturday, May 12, will take place at Burton Coliseum. The Golden Scholars will meet in the Chalkley Room to have a group photo taken and will then lead the commencement procession for the class of 2018.

l To register, call the McNeese Alumni Office at 475-5232. The registration deadline is Friday, April 27.
