Mary John Goree Fund announces Las Animas County Scholarships

Recently the Mary John Goree Las Animas County Scholarship class of 2017 was announced. This year’s class includes three students from Hoehne High School and one student from GOAL Academy.

The Mary John Goree Las Animas County Scholarship offers recipients a guaranteed minimum award of full tuition and fees that can be used at any four-year college or university in the United States (other than Princeton University) plus the possibility of an additional award based upon financial need.

This year’s class of scholarship winners includes: Sydney Arago, from Hoehne High School, who will be attending the University of Colorado Denver; Ryanna Coberly, also from Hoehne, who will be attending University of Northern Colorado; Gary Hunter Robins from Hoehne, who will be attending the University of Utah; and Seychelle Lusk from GOAL Academy, who will be attending Colorado State University.

The Mary John Goree Foundation also recently announce that Sally Jane Ruybalid of Trinidad High School has accepted the foundation’s sister scholarship, the Mary John Goree Scholarship at Princeton University.

Said the foundation, “The foundation congratulates Sydney, Ryanna, Seychelle, Hunter and Sally upon their graduation from high school and wishes them the best in their continued pursuit of academic excellence!”
