Extensive expansion, more stores planned for Dayton Mall

Many new stores are joining the lineup at the Dayton Mall and several favorites are expanding. Currently, the mall has more than 100,000 square feet of space under construction. Our shoppers have given us feedback and let us know what types of stores they would like to see at the Dayton Mall, said Michael W. Minns, General Manager of the Dayton Mall. In response to the desires of our shoppers, we have been able to attract several key retailers to the Dayton Mall lineup. The latest new store announcement is the addition of Linens n Things. This 30,000 square foot super-store will satisfy shoppers requests for an expanded selection of goods for the home at Dayton Mall. This store will mark the entrance of Linens n Things to the Dayton market. Linens n Things is one of the nations largest and fastest growing specialty retailers of home textiles, housewares and decorative home accessories. The store is a destination store for designer bedding, towels and accessories, the newest kitchen electrics, cookware, dinnerware, lamps, framed art, candles and more. The store will be located near Dayton Mall Entrance 4, in the area previously occupied by Discovery Zone. The addition of Linens n Things will actually cause the mall to create a new mall entrance in this area. The new mall entrance will be about 20 feet closer to JC Penneys. New public restrooms will also be built at the malls new entrance. In addition to the new mens and womens restrooms, a new family restroom will also be available. The Linens n Things store is expected to open in time for the 2000 holiday shopping season.
